Storm Humberto Moves Westward in the Atlantic

Washington, Sept 9 (Prensa Latina) Tropical Storm Humberto, eighth phenomenon of the current hurricane season, continued its westward movement with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour, with stronger gusts.

According to the National Hurricane Center of the United States, tropical storm conditions are possible over the southern islands of Cape Verde in a few hours.

At 14:00 local time, the system's center was located at 13.6 degrees north latitude and 24.8 degrees west longitude, about 140 kilometers from the island Brava, Cape Verde.

Humberto has a central pressure of 5000 hPa and moves at 19 kilometers per hour. The winds of tropical storm force extend to 58 miles from the center of the storm.

Forecasters expected for Tuesday a turn toward the west-northwest with a small decrease in movement spread. For Wednesday Humberto could turn toward the north-northwest.

Additional strengthening is forecast for this storm in the next 48 hours, reducing its speed and gaining more organization and intensity to become a hurricane.
