Tropical Storm Gabrielle Degradated to Depresion

Havana, Sep 5 (Prensa Latina) Tropical Storm Gabrielle was downgraded to a depression, its maximum winds are now 24.1 mph, said National Hurricane Center (NHC ), based in Miami,US.

According to the NHC , at 11.00 local time , the center of the system was at the 17.5 degrees north latitude and 68.1 degrees west longitude , about 77.6 miles south- southeast of Punta Cana , Dominican Republic and 105 miles west -southwest of Ponce, Puerto Rico .

The depression is moving toward the northwest at 15 kilometers per hour, and should degrade further into a low pressure center on Thursday night or Friday morning , the hurricane center said .

Gabrielle became the seventh tropical body of the current hurricane season in the Atlantic , Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, begun last June 1 and running through November 30 .

For this period the experts predicted between 13 to 20 tropical organisms with a name, of which a figure located between 7 and 11 will end up being hurricanes, some of which would reach great intensity.

Climatic factors as the increase of the sea temperature of the sea, and the absence of the phenomenon "The Boy" which facilitate the formation of hurricanes, as well as the strength of the Monsoon in western África, were taken into account when carrying out the predictions.
