Experiences of Cuba in Search and Rescue Highlighted

Havana, Apr 16 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is able to provide training and advice in search and rescue to air disasters, said today the Director of Operations of the Cuban Institute of Civil Aeronautics, Pedro Luis Colmenero.

"In this matter we are well prepared both in the maritime and aeronautical specialty, so we can instruct other nations in need," Colmenero told Prensa Latina after conducting search and rescue exercises at sea, nautical mile north coast.

This type of test for a possible plane crash is of great importance, mainly because the goal is to save lives, said the official.

Because of the defensive structure of the country we have an excellent system for these extreme situations, said Colmenero, who noted the presence of representatives of the United States, Central America and the Caribbean, among other stakeholders in purchase domestically produced software.

They believe he said that knowledge and achievements on the subject in Cuba, can be replicated elsewhere.
