Various Perceptible Earthquakes in Santiago de Cuba

Santiago de Cuba, Jan 17 (Prensa Latina) A total of eight perceptible earthquakes were recorded today in this city from 1:37 am, according to the report issued by the network of TV stations of the National Seismological Service (NSS).

The first two, with just 11 minutes apart, with magnitudes of 4.8 and 4.6 on the Richter scale respectively, both at about 40 kilometers southwest of the city and were felt in this province, Granma and Guantanamo.

The first quake was located at coordinates 19.67 degrees north latitude and 76.04 west longitude with a depth of five kilometers.

At 1:48 a.m. the second event occurred at coordinates 19.63 degrees north latitude and 76.05 west longitude, at a depth of 2.5 kilometers.

The seventh tremor was recorded at 4:42 am, at coordinates 19.71 degrees north latitude and 76.04 west longitude, three kilometers deep and 3.8 magnitude, also at 40 kilometers far from the city.

The eighth occurred at 5:04 am, with the same magnitude of 3.8, five kilometers deep and at coordinates 19.67 degrees north latitude and 76.04 west longitude, at the same distance of 40 kilometers.

According to experts of the NSS, the latest are the eight and nine earthquakes of 2016 and although other movements of whom there are not yet perceptibly reports.
